Tho Coroner stated that being in ill health it was possible for Miss Wood to have fainted and fallen from the bridge into the river. Christckubch, April 17. At the inquest on the man who was found lying by the railway track near the * Addington station, evidence was given that the man, whose identity remains unknown, was standing on the platform of one of the carriages when he swung round and fell off and the axle box struck his head and killed him. The guard, however, was not informed of the occurrence until five miles below Dunsandel, and the coroner said it was a most I extraordinary thing that those who saw the accident said nothing to the guard. Yesterday the body was identified as that of Edwa-d McAnulfcy of Kyle, near Ashburton, but it turns out that McAnulty is alive and the inquest was adjourned till Monday in order that further inquiries might be made. ■*
