WANGANUI ITEMS.

The Munibspal Gas Works show a net profit for the year just ended of .£1864, this successful result being obtained after making up .£4OO transferred at the beginning'of the year for relief of rates, and .£4lO for renewal of retorts. The surplus profits actually were .£2675. Assets increased by .£369, and liabilities decreased ,£319 during the year. Sales of.gas increased 10 per cent. The Harbor Board decided last evening to proceed with extension of the outside harbor works immediately. The Engineer advises the extension of the north mole by 1400 feet.
