TENNIS.
Representatives of the combined Taouui-Ohakea teuui team journeyed to Foxtou on Saturday by a special train to try conclusions with a' team of that town. The visitors were met at the rail. Way station and escorted to Mr p. Gray’s hotel, where lunch had been provided by the home players!
The courts were found to be in good order, and some interesting ganics resulted, The Poxton players were beaten by ll games to ‘5, the aggregate points ' being—Oiiafiea, Taouui 54(5, Poxton 580.
Afternoon tea WB S provided by the ladies during the progress of the games. Previous to leaving for home the visitors gave hearty cheeps fop the reception aud pleasant outing that had been given them by their Foxton friends. Result of the games: POXTON TAONUI-OHAKEA. GENTS’ DOUBLES.
