Frederick Dewe, employed at Broad and Small's furniture factory, wa3 working at a planing machine this morning when his left hand accidentally camo in contact with a 'evolving knifo which, crushed it. At the hospital the hand had to bo amputated. sCnßisTCin.a!cir, April 10. The man Smithers who, oil Friday night, attempted to murder Nellie Jackson, and his victim are still in the hospital and making good progress towards recovery. Smithers is in custody.
