LABOUR IN THE MINES.

Tho Transvaal Government has appointed the following commission to inquire into the possibility of employing more white labour in the mines, also into mechanical substitutes for coloured labour :—Stoikenstroon (Chairman), Spencer and Francke representatives of the mines, Cresswell the white labour advocate, and Whiteside, Labourite. Pbetobla, Aprii 8.
The authorities in the Transvaal have discovered that thcro were 87G unauthorised arrivals of Asiatics last year.
