The Central Committee of German Trade Unions report that millions of workmen are not receiving a living wage. In 27 out of OG organised trades the average wage is below 3s a day" These trades include the clothing industry, representing 242,000 workers, the Saxon textile industry 325,000 workers, the North and South German Textile Unions 244,000 workers, and the tobacco industry 150,000. The Voerwarts declares that 2% million skilled labourers are earning between Is 9d and 3s a day. [These figures are interesting in view of the favourable account of German labour conditions given by a deputation of British workers which visited Germany recently. [
