Place Handicap.—Lord I’itzroy, 7.10, 1; Comely, 7.18, 2; Clyde, 7.11, 3. Nine starters. Betting : 7to 2 against Florancs, 4 to 1 Realm, 5 to 1 Refrain, G iol Comely, 7to 1 Eitzroy. At the mile Eitzroy had a couple of lengths lead, which Comely and Clyde reduced to halt a length at the halt mile, closing on the leader in the straight, Eitzroy, however, responded, winning by half a length. Time, 2min 37.)sec. Second Steeplechase.—Sultana, 11.0, 1 ; Marjorie, 10.2, 2. tfivo starters. Betting: 6 to 4 against Karamba, 3 to 2 Rongoa, 5 to 1 Sultana. At the logs Rongoa fell, while on the second round. "Karamba and Anviculuin had a long lead, until both fell at difficult points, leaving Sultana and Marjorie to finish the race. Sultana won by a furlong. Time, 7min 23Jsec. A.J.C. Plato. — Dividend (Burden) 1, Proceed (Clayton) 2, Proceodor (Trot) 3. Other starter: Blue Spec. Betting : 5 to 2 on Dividend, 5 to 1 against Proceed, 7to 1 Blue Spec, 10 to 1 Proceodor. The field moved off slowly. Dividend in front, and Proceodor and Blue Spec next in order followed out of the straight. A’ong the back at Kensington Proceodor moved up to Dividend, but tho latter got aw ly again. Passing tho stand the second time, Dividend had a length load from Proceedor, with tho others close handy. Rounding the bend Proceed ran up second, entering tho straight so, and Dividend had no serious difficulty in winning by a length. Time, smin 34sec. Death of Sir Foote

The blood stallion Sir Foote, which returned home from Sydney Show where he took champion prize for tho best horse exhibited on Thursd-y, died yesterday. Australian Notes. Sydney, April S. Eealra has been purchased by an Indian buyer for 1500 guineas. Eongoa, Karamba and Anriculum, which fell in the Steeplechase, have been destroyed. The Jockey Club will hold an investigation into the alleged inconsistent running of Pera.
