Notice is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Manawi' .u County Council, held at Sanson, on the 18th March, 1907, the following special orders were adopted : That in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “ The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1901,” and by virtue c! a warrant issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, in teims of Section 118 of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” dated the 14th day of Deeem- ! her, 1906, the Manawatu County Council hereby resolves as follows : (1) That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of two thousand pounds sterling authorised to bo raised by the Manawatu County Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of providing the Manawatu County Council’s share of the cost of constructing a bridge (including approaches and protective works) over the Manawatu River near Shannon, known as the Shannon Bridge, the site of the said bridge approaches and protective works being more particularly delined on tbe plan marked “R 2749 ” deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, Wellington, in thr> Wellington Land District, and tho:eon shown in red colour, such loan to be at four per centum per annum for a period of forty-one years, the said Manawatu County Council hereby makes and levies a Special Rate of one-sixtieth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the boundaries of the Manawatu County, and that such Special Rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and bo payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

(2.) That in pursuance and exer- 1 cise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “ The L.;cal Bodies Loans Act, 1901,” the Manawatu County Council hereby resolves as follows: “ That for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of five hundred pounds sterling authorised to be raised by the Manawatu County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of constructing the Koputaru Road, such loan to be at 4 per centum per annum for a period of forty-one years, the said Manawatu County Council hereby makes and levies a Special Rate of seven-twelfths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Koputaru Road Special Rating District, comprising the following Sections—lß, 18a, 19, 19a, 20, 22 and 23 of the Oroua Downs Estate, Block XIII, TeKawau Survey District, and that such Special Rate shall be an annual recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off. (3.) That the Manawatu County Council hereby declares that the undermentioned plants included in the second schedule of “The Noxious Weeds Act, 1900,” shall be deemed to be noxious weeds within its jurisdiction : Penny Royal (Mentha Pulegium) Hemlock (Conium Maculatum) A meeting of the Manawatu County Council will be held at the County Offices, Sanson, on WEDNESDAY, 10th April, 1907, to confirm the foregoing Special Orders.
