Feilding Meeting Second Day.

The Feilding Jockey Club was favgj-J " loug - weather for concluding day of Easter fixture yesterday. The attendance was again large and the day’s racing was got through without a hitch of any kind. Mr Chadwick’s adjustments resulted in excellent fields and interesting finishes. Speculation was brisk, the sum of £14,180 going through the machine, making a total of £81,436 for the two days as against £29,656 for corresponding fixture last year, being an increase 0f,£1780. At the last fence Aorangi, who came fast from behind, threw out a decided challenge to Merriwai. In a punishing finish tho first day’s winner again prevailed by three parts of a length. As they went on to the home bend Gazeley and Volume still had charge, but the former suddenly dropped back, leaving Volume out in front by himself. When heads wore turned for home Polyeaste was the first to throw out a challenge to Volume, and while these were fighting it out, the latter having the best of it, i’lamen came with a dash.
