HEW TURNIP DISEASE.

Press Association. Mastektox, April 2. Consequent on last week’s raiu blight has appeared in tho crops of five or six settlers at Fernridgo, near Masterton. Apparently tho early varieties have withstood the attacts but late sorts have easily contracted the disease. Recently a strangro disease attacked turnips on a property in tiro same district. Tir first symptoms of this disease are black or brown, streaks under the crown extending downwards and finally reducing tho turnip to a yellow pulp, this destruction occupying from two to five days. Tho Agricultural Department was communicated with but no reply lias yet been froceived. The disease lias now made its appearance at Matalmvi and about a quarter of the crop has been ruined.
