A. mass meeting of Indian coolies, held at Johannesburg, protested against the Asiatic Law Amendment Ordinance, which was re-enaoted on tho 21st inst. by the Transvaal Parliament. The mooting considered tho ordinance unnecessary and degrading, and it was resolved to make an offer to submit to voluntary registration if tho offensive requirement embodied in the now law was not insisted upon. If this compromise is refused, the Indians of tho Transvaal intend to appeal for Imperial protection.
