Press Association , , Napier, March 21. . The New Zealand Pi io Tournament was continued at Hastings to day! There was a fair attendance of spectators. The following are tho results Of the day's play.— Hawke's Eat B v: Eangitikei B.

This was a very good game, although at times very slow. At tho commencement of play ifclooked as though Hawke's Bay would easily win, as they pressed their opponents very much, Hill playing an exceptionally good game. In the first snoll Hawke's Bay had it all their own way, keeping tho ball near their opponents' goal, all tho time, F. McKenzie scoring a goal. In tho second spell Bank, of the Hawke's Bay team, was ofMde, and from a free hit Levin, for Eangitikei, placed a good goal, this making tho seoros even. In the third spell Itangitikei played much better, Dalr'ymple and Levin both scoring for them.. Hawke's Bay again showed best form in tho fourth spell and Hill added another goal to rheir total, leaymg them one behind Eangitikei. The fifth spell, however, changed the aspect of affairs, tho Hawke's Bay team running over their opponents, first Banks, then McKenzie, then Banks again scoring goals, the last being the result of a smart piece of work by Hill, who took the ball right down the field.. In the sixth spell Levin for Eangitikei, who had been playing a capital game all through, placed yet -another goal to his credit, notching three out -of tho four goals scored for Eangitikei. Tho game ended in a win for Hawke's Bay by 5 goals to 4. • Eangitikei A v. Fern Fiats. This was a very one-sided game, Eangitikei quite outclassing their opponents and winning by IS points to nil. Tho game was very fast and open and a good one to wateb, but although Fern Flats made a plucky fight of it their combination was poor, and they were mot by clever play and exceptionally good hitting by the Eangitikei team. Dalrymple scored in each spell, his total being eleven goals, H. Wilson hit five and A. Wilson two goals. In the tilth ahg sixth spells Fern Flats played a much better game, and in the latter they showed some dash, and all but scored on two occasions while their detence too was sound, saving a score on two or three occasions by some smart work, Hawke's Bat A. v. Mangaheia. This was a vory good game, although Hawke's Bay did practically all th scoring. Mangaheia were very good in their runs up the field but always failed at the critical moment. Ormond for Hawke's Bay played a great game, and EusselLalsp played very well. The result was Hawke's Bay A. 10 goals, Manga; heia 1 goal. Riissell and Nelson scored in the firrt spell. In the second spcilj \y, M'aoKenzie scored, Wilson addpjl another goal ii. tho third spell. In the fourth MangaV.sia playod much bettesand obiainod a goal, which how. ever was scored by ono of tho Hawke's Bay team hitting the ball with a back, tho ball moving anomer of the Hawke's' Bay ponies and rebounding through the, goal. Hijwko'a Bay replied 'by adding t'.vo moro' goals. ' In tho fifth spell Eussoll, who was playing S dashing game, at this point placed two more goals to tho credit of Hawko's Bay and shortly afterwards he again took tho ball down the field in good stylo which resulted in Nelson, who followed him upi scoring one move goal.
