The domestic maid problem is being solved in a new way, houseboys and housemen taking the place of female servants m many private and large boarding houses iu the city, and they are exclusively employed in a number of restaurants. The general opinion is that they are far less trouble than Y/oniojj. Tho contention is often heard that an Australian should be a citizen soldier, but what kind of warnov would a man make when the trumpet called, who rushod from bed-makmg and diisting to meet an enemy knocking at his country's gates ?
