THE VANCOUVER MAIL.
Press Association —Copyright. Melbouhne, March 20,
Speaking in '.regard to the Vanco'nyer servico tho Postmaster said there "was most possibility of an improved service Svith a small subsidy from Australia and the" end 'would he attaiucd by bringing New Zealand into' the service. It was not easy to say what yrould happen if the San Francisco service was continued. A suggestion had been made some time ago to transform the Vancotiver and San Francisco mail sorvices into a four weekly schedule at accelerated speed. Then if the two lines alternated they would have a rogular fortnightly service, which would bo equally valuable to Australia and Now Zealand. Such service might lead to greatly increased business. The Union Company seemed most anxious to meet Government, but other companies wore rea'iy to compete for tho carriage of mails.
