The Marton Sports Concert has boon postponed till the night of the sports—probably April 17th. A general commit tea meeting of Marton Athletic Club will be held at. the Borough Oounci Chambers tonight at 8 o’clock. A full attendance of members is particularly requested. Owing to heavy floods the whole of the low-lying country round Woodville is under water and railway communication with the Wairarapa is interrupted. It is estimated that the repairs will take some weeks. There was a large attendance at the funeral of the late Joseph Sinclair on Sunday at Glielteuuam, the service being conducted by Rev. Mr Cassell. The rainfall in the previors 34 hours at Masterton has been just over ‘6% inches. Nearly all the rivers are in'] uglier flood than for a long time. Rain has now partially ceased, but the weather is still overcast. A meeting was held at Apiti on Saturday to consider an offer made by present proprietor of the hall to the new hall committee. After some lively discussion it was decided to decline the offer, and a systematic canvas of the district is to bo made to raise funds for a new building.
