MARTON SPORTS.
Postponed Till April 17,
It; has often been said that Marton Athletic Club had been born—or formed—under a lucky star as everything held under its auspices has been a success. While this might bo in a men.sure correct, it certainly looked first filing yesterday that the "Kind Fates' 1 had at last forsaken tho Club, and f-r once it would have to contend with circumstances adverse enough to cause what was expected to be the most successful gathering yet held into a dismal failure. The weather, upon which everything depend:*, was so bad this morning that it was found necessary to 2'Ostponc the sports to some future date—probably ' 17th Ajjril. Rain set in at noon yesterday, and kept up continuously ever since, with tho result that the Marton Park is practically under water. A large number of competitors arrived by the first trains. The wero met by the secretary, and informed of tiie postponement in time to return home by the outgoing trains. It lias been decided to hold tho concert this evening.
