The Kimboltou Sporta Club were favoured with' splendid weather yesterday, and the committee had provided an excellent programme, but notw.ithstaudi ing all this the likings at the gate showed a decided falling off, only about .£l7 being taken. ' Splendid entries for all the horse events were received, and the chain stepi ping competition had 62 entries, suroly a~ record for this district. Foot events were not, however, so well contested as in former years, which shows the public fancy is. gradually transforming country meet» iygs into equestrian sports. '" * ■-■•'** ' This Club'is decidedly enterprising and for music provided a huge which discoursed first-class and up-to-data music during the day. A word of praise is due to the joint secretaries, Messrs MpKpchnia and Richardson, and Mr Bayn'QS, the treasurer, for the. excellent management of the sports, which deserved far better patronage from tho public!
