FEILDING TECHNICAL SCHOOL.

The monthly meeting of thertbove was held last night, Mr Goodbehore in tho chair. I_ the monthly report it was stated tha* the .classes for wood carving, repousser work, carpentry and joinery,' building; construction, dressmaking, drawing and painting had been opened, and there were just sufficient pupils to pay expenses.School classes had been commenced in wood work and cookery, there being four classes each attended by 30 boys and the saino number of girls. Eleven pupils had joined the correspondence classes in connection with Banks' Commercial College, Wellington. The amount, -£2OO, subscribed towards the erection of a teohnical school had been subsidised to the extent of .£2300. The plans for the building had arrived. It would consist of a two storied brick building with a handsome front Tho director of the school said he had made arrangements for tho students to pay „2 2s for the series of lessons by Banks' Commercial College. The ordinary ohargo to each pupil was j 63 10s for the course. Arrangements had also been made for Mr Pickering, who had passed the oourse, to give personal to the pupils. The payment to Mr Pickering would be at the rate of 53 ai. hour. .

It was decided to suggest to the archi-~

tect a slight alteration in the plan of the building, and that it be erected with front to Kimbolton road. A draft prospectus, to givo all information in regard to fees, etc., was read by the director and approved for publicati'. n. . A balance sheet of last year's working showed .£176 14s, subscribers' donations and balance of J.. 8 ISs -Id on. the cost of last vear's work. It was decided to place i the -6170 Us with the Feilding Building 1 Society at ■! per cent, deposit at call.
