In any case, steps 1 will be taken to ascertain the name of the person who secures the honor of being the t one who makes up the million and a half. lj Judging of the district court display will take place on the 91st inst. further awards x in connection with judging of exhibits are expected to be made to-morrow. Replies t are being received from football clubs with ] respect to the proposed football carnival to J be held during the early part of April. It is probable that steps will ba taken with the view of retaining the Aquarium in Christchurch, having same removed and 1 fitted up in the Acclimatisaion Society's . Garden. The Aquarium has been one of ' the chief attractions at the Exhibition. ( Thirty pupils and two teachers from the j Otautau School, Southland, reached the j Exhibition to-day, aud will remain till Friday. I Special attention is being given to the J Sports Ground track in view of the athletic meeting arranged by the Canterbury College Students' Association, which takes place on Saturday afternoon next. The General Manager of the Exhibition reports a very considerable increase in revenue from admissions to the art gallery during the past week. It is quite obvious that the near approach of the conclusion of the Exhibition, and the return to England of the pictures, is causing visitors to pay more than usual attention to this exceptional feature. The Besses o' th' Bam Band, which is still attracting large attendances, will give its final performance on the Sports Ground to-morrow evening. Selections will be given alternately with the pyrotechnic displays provided by the representative o£ Pain and Sons, London. [ Wonderland is organising a fresh novelty | in the form of a beauty show and physi- ] [ cal culture competition, which is to ' take place on a specially construct- \ ed platform in the grounds on ' Friday, 22nd March. Prizes will he given to men and women having the best ' physical development, woman showing the best shaped arm and shoulder, and ' the woman displaying tho neatest foot ' and anklo. Tho foot and ankles must bo h ! displayed bare. A prize valued at five guineas will also be given to tho maiden " who is judged by voto of those present to I bo the prettiest girl ii. Christchurch. On " same night will be hold a sensation which caused immense excitement at Bondi, B Sydney, and performed there soino weeks ago, A gold nugp-et valued at XlO will be.buried in tho sand in Wonderland grounds and members of the public may secure digger's license and spade for sixpence, enabling them to dig for buried treasure.
