The bridegroom was accompanied by Messrs Athol and Arnold Shannon, brothers of the bride, as groomsmen. Tho ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. Canncll, of New Plymouth, assisted by tho Rev. O. E. Beocroft, of Feildiug, and, as usual on the occasion of the first marriage in the Church, the bride and bridegroam were presented with a handsomely bound Bible and Hymn Book, Mr Campliu making tho presentation on behalf of the Trustees of the Church. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at afternoon tea at the residence of the bride’s father, and later in the afternoon Mr and Mrs Gibson left for Foilding, en route for their now homo at Tnrakina, the bride wearing as travelling dross a neat tailor-made costume of dark grey tweed, with mauve hat. The goodwill and appreciation of relatives and friends expressed itself in a hearty send-off, and more substantially in a number of valuable presents, which included several cheques.
