THE LAND BILL.

Per Press Association. Ranqiwahia, March 12. Mr Mathieson’s meeting hero had a large f and representative attendance. Mr Guthrie was in the chair. A resolution proposed by Mr McKean Senior and seconded by Mr Power was carried unanimously:— “That any Land Bill proposed by Government, which does not provide for’the option of the freehold, is unsatisfactory to, and will he bitterly opposed by, this meeting as the prosperity and progress of New Zealand depend almost entirely on the development and productiveness of our lands and we believe the 1 freehold tenure will promote this by giving a greater incentive to settlers than any other tenure.”
