The supply of Australian mutton exceeds the de- t wand, and it is quoted at 3%d per lb. x Lamb is very dull and is becoming \ 'more depressed on account of heavy I arrivals and large shipments afloat, j Canterbury sd, other than Canter- i bury 4%d, Australian 4d per lb. c Beef is quiet, but there is a fair ] demand for better grades. Aew . hinds 3%A, fores per lb. , 0 Butter is somewhat steadier, although large supplies are coming forTvard, and 32,000 Idoxgs of colonial butter are expected to arrive by the end of the month. Last mouth 333,518 boxes'wcao received, against 279 333 for corresdondiug period last 1 year. Choice New Zealand 995, Ans- I tralian 975, Argentine 99s and Danish : Ills per cwt. , . 1 1 Cheese is quiet and prices arc : slightly weaker. Now . Zealand 60s 6d per cwt. , , Hemp is quiet and rather unsettled, although moderate business is doing. Good fair grade on spot £3B, AprilSuuo shipments £37 10s, and fair current Manila on spot £4O. I Cocksfoot seed is firm and buyers have been offering more freely. Bright clean seed, 17115 s to the bushel, 60s per cwt. Wool is strong. Stock Market Dalgety and Go,, Ltd., report: —At oUr Feilding sale on Friday there was a large yarding of both sheep and cattle. There was a good demand for sheep with the exception of old ewes w.iich were slightly easier. Cattle .vere very dull of sale. Quotations: —Lambs 9s 6d to 10s, 2-th wethers 14s 6d to 15s> 2-th ewes 15s to 18s, f.m. owes 10s Bd, 10s lOd to 12s, f.m. Shropshire rams 11s to 15s. Cattle: Weaners 3a 6d to 7s, bulls 20s to 22s 6d. Messrs Abraham and Williams report that at their fortnightsy sale at Madgawcka on Friday a good number of sheep and cattle came forward. The market for sheep opened rather dull, but eventually most lines of sheep and cattle were sold satisfactorilv. Lambs 8s to 10s sd, s. m. ewes'Ss to 12s, culls 5s to 7s Cd, 4 ana 5 years 10s 9d, 2 tooth to f.m. 12s 4d, 3 to 3)4 year bullocks £4 13s 6d, empty heifers £3, fat and forward cows £8 12s 6d to £3 10s. Messrs A. H. Atkinson and Co. report: —At our Weekly sale at Follding on Friday we had exceptionally heavy entries. We offered on behalf of Mr Wischnowsky, draught horses and contractor’s plant, and a considerable number of other horses were entered. Except for draughts and half draughts there was a slack demand. Wo also offered a line of dairy cows, for which market rates were obtained. We yarded !60 pigs of all classes, and mostly A good quality. There was a very keen demand and satisfactory prices ruled right through, good weaners showing improvement. Useful classes of stores •were most sought after and made high rates. A fair entry ot poultry sold at late rates. Potatoes are stationary at recent prices, and other classes of produce show little change. Quotations—Dairy cows, low condition, £3 10s to £3 10s. Horses; Draught mare £34 10s, draught gelding £23 10s, half draught gelding .£26 10s, hacks £2 to £6. Pigs; Best weaners 13s to 16s, purebred Ls, inferior 9s to 11s, suckers 5s 6d, good slips 14s to 18s, light stores 15s to 18s, medium 19s to 21s 6d, forward stores 27s 6d, light porkers _ 25a _ to _2Bs, medium 31s fid, sows in pig 35s to 375, sows and litters £3 6s 6d to £3 11s fid. Poultry: Cockerels2s lOd to Ss 6d, hens 2s 8d to 3s fid, ducks 3s to 3s 6d per pair. Produce : Potatoes 7s per sack, onions lj£d per lb, plums Id to IKd, apples %d to 1 VAI, tomatoes 6s per case, cucumbers 2s, rhubarb 3d to ud per bundle, swedes Is 6d per sack, cabbage Is 9d, fowl wheat 4s Id per bushel, factory bacon sides 7%d, hams 7%d, rolled Bd.
