Bull, who was the leader of the Catherine expedition, belongs to Victoria and was a member of tho Antarctic expedition in 1893. He says he -was glad to got away from the Orozets, as it was a very monotonous existence there. Still the island was full of interest, especially to him, for ho. was a naturalist, and had splendid .opportunities of watching aud studying tho abundant life on the islands. There were seals, sea lions and birds of all sorts. They caught CO albatrosses and tied to their legs, with wire, sealed up cartridge cases in which were messages telling of their plight. Those birds will bo of great scientific interest, now because the question of how long an albatross lives is an interesting one and the finding of ouo of these birds • 100 or 150 years houco. will have an important bearing on tho question. Adventures on tiio island were numerous aud ho is goin-l to write a book on them when ho reaches London.
