Messrs Dalgoty and Co., Ltd., report haying a fair entry of sheep and a; small entry of cattle at their Ssale at Palmerston- on Thursday'. There was a good demand for sheep of all descriptions, every lot selling under the hammer. Cattle were in poor d"mand. Small lambs 7s 9d to Bs, rape lambs 8s lid to 10s fid, sound mouth ewes 11s to 13s, 2% year steers £3 15s. - The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as followsAt Palmerston North on Thursday we yarded 300 head of cattle and 3000 sheep. There was a fair inquiry for cattle, and prices were good. Buyers wore present for si loop and* a total clearance was effected. Quotations : Cull lambs fis lOd to (is lid, store lambs 9s, forward ewes 11s od and 11s fid, cull ewes 7s 7d, fat owes 14s lOd, Southdown rams ogns, Romney rams 4gns. The New Zealand Loan- and Mercantile Agency Co. report:—At Apiti on Tuesday last a yarding of 3200 sheep and 350 head cattle came forward. Amongst the shecop offered were some particularly nice Lincoln and Somney-Linooln ewes and wethers belonging to Mr James Meahan, who has recently, sold his property in Apiti. Keen competition ensued for his lots, his 2-tooth ewes making £T a head, 4-tooth 22s Id, f.f.m and f.m ewes IGs 2d, 2tooth wethers los, 4-tooth wethers 10s Bd, lambs 10s. Bidding was spirited throughout and the sale resulted in or. of the most satisfactory ones that has ever been held in Apiti. Cattle were dull at auction, but a good number were sold aftsr the sale. At Feilding on Friday we had an average entry of sheep and a good yarding of cattle.
