The War Office authorities informed Messrs Beeves and Ooghlan, who interviewed them; that they, did not desire to deprive tho colonies of; the meat contracts for Gibraltar, as meat they supplied was satisfactory, but they desired to extend the area of supply in case of emergencies; They hoped, however, that, the contracts would still go to Australasia. Future_ contracts .would specify frozen beef, thus giving Australia an opportunity; The troops henceforth would receive frozen mutton once weekly-and beef twice.
