| Per Press Association. I Ceeibtchuecii, March G. I s At tho Addington live stock market today there were fairly large entries of ; stock, and a good attendance. Store sheep were in good demand, and fat lamb were easier. Fat sheep wore firmer in conseqnence of the small yarding. Fat cattle sold at the previous week’s rates, ’ and pigs sold well. There was a poor i sale for store cattle, and a better demand ! for dairy cows. There was a good entry . for store sheep, the bulk being iambs, and . the late recovery in prices was maintained. There was a good entry of store ■ snoop and lambs, and as the export buyers were not operating prices for good lambs were more easy. .Unfinished lots sold well, being mostly -bought by graziers. Prime lambs made 14s Gd to IGs, a few heavier to 18s 9d. medium Us 6d to 14s, and light sorts Ds Gd to Us. Fat sheep were in short supply, nearly all being ewes, and the quality was moderate. There was a good demand, and prices showed an advance for all good and prime ewes and wethers, the yarding being only sufficient for butchers’ ’requirements. The range of prices was: —Wethers 16s to 20s, extra to 24s 3d. merino wethers 9a 3d to 14s 9d, extra IGs 3d to 18s lOd, prime ewes 17s to 21s, medium 14s to IGs i Gd, others 9s to 13s Gd. The entry of fet cattle totalled 192, the bulk being of medium quality. Prices for prime beef | were rather firmer. Stores made £S 17s !Gd to AlO 2s Gd, heifers .£4 10s to 2s Gd, and cows M 5s to j£6 10s, equal to 22s to 23s 6<l for prime and 19s to 21s for medium per lOQlhs, Teal calves made os to £i, according to size and quality. There were only a few rough lots of store cattle foiward, and little was done. There was an improved inquiry for dairy cows near to calving, and they sold up to £7 17s Gd, _ There was a moderate entry of fat pigs, and a fairly large entry of stores. JBacouers realised 40s to 545, equal to 4d to 4jd lb, porkers 30s to 38s, equal to 4?d to Gd, large stores 2Cs to 335, medium ISs to 225, weanors 9s to 14s.

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report: We held our usual fortnightly sale at Palmerston on Tuesday last when we had a full j'arding .of sheep, which came forward in mote then advertised numbers, and there wna a small yarding of cattle. With the exception of two small pens of sheep wo made a total clearance. Bidding for all classes of young sheep was brisk, but aged owes wore harder to quit. Wo quote :—2, 4 and G-th ewes 19s, 2-th owes good 18s Id, 2-th owes small 13s 8d to 14s, full-mouth owes 7a Gd to 9s 3d, mired 2-th small 12s Id, 2-th wethers 14s, lambs small 8s to 8s sd, cull ewes 2s Gd to ss, 2-lh Lincoln rams 2igns to 3} gn.s, full-mouth Lincoln rams -ign to sgns, G-th Border Leicester rams Ign to 3gns, yearling cattle 25s to 30s, weanera 15s, 2-yr steers £2 ss. We also held a settlors sale at Mangairoka in Mr T. Muir’s yards. There was a good entry of both s’neep and cattle. Bidding was a little slow at auction, but ■ a good number of lines wore sold under the hammer and most of the passed in linos were disposed of privately after the sale.
