RACING CONFERENCE AT FEILDING.

A meeting of delegates from Ashhurst, Feilding, Poston, Manawatu, Marion. Enngitikei, and Waverley-Wnitotara Clubs was held at Feilding yesterday. The question oi curtailing oompumen ary tickets was discussed nt length, and it was resolved that it be a recommendation to the committees to curtail the issue of complimentary and luncheon tickets, and the secretaries be instructed not to issue complimentary tickets to any person outside the officials of his own club.—Carried.

It was resolved that this meeting considers clubs should decline to accept money by letter and telegram for investment on the machine. It was also resolved that it .be a reeommendatian that stewards be prohibited from betting on their own course. Mr J. Gr. "Wilson : was deputed to interview the Commissioner of Police, and ash his assistance in the suppression of the bookmaker nuisance. Mr Beckett moved that the Conference be'asked to abolish' Metropolitan'Clubs, and to appoint in thoirstead Metropolitan Committees, to be representatives of the various clubs interested in the Pacing district, and tbe representatives boasted to taka steps in this direction.—Carried. Mr J. M. Johnston moved, That no permit be granted for mootings whore totalisator permits wore not hold. The mover argued that meetings would have to be curtailed, otherwise tiro totalisator would go out. —The motion was lost, only Messrs Johnston and Loughuan voting for it,

It was decided to hold tho Conference annually at Feilding. Mr Goodall was appointed secretory pro tern. Thc-Eangitikoi Club passed a resolu-

tion protesting against the action of the committee of the Racing Conference, in granting the Manuwatu Racing Club an additional day at their summer meeting without hearing any evidence, from other clubs interested, believing that this additional day at Christmas time is against the interests of racing and injurious to the other neighbouring clubs, which had raced for a long time at that time of the year. Surprise was expressed at Mr Abraham’s action. ; Mr J. Q. Wilson moved, on bohalf of tho Rangitikei Racing Club, that while having no objection to the Mauawatu Racing Club having a third day‘at any other time of the year, tho Now Zealand Racing Conference bo requested not to allow Manawatu a third day at Christmas time, Tho motion was seconded by Mr R, E. Beckett, and carried, Manuwutu’s roprefioatativoa dissenting,
