A private cable was received at Sydney to-day announcing that SpreckleS lin'd decided to withdraw their steamers of the A. and A, Line from the San Francisco sen ice. The general manager of the Company, when seen, stated" that there was absbr lutely no foundation for tjie report. All that was known here was that the Yentara and Sierra would bo laid up ou raturning to San Francisco and thoroughly overhauled. This means a temporal)' bl'ejk in the service.
