The weather was favourable yesterday for the Waituna Sports, which, taken witlj the increasing popularity of tho fixture, caused a record attendance. The sum of £2O 5s 6d was received at the gate which, with the number of members tickets sold, indicated the attendance at about GOO. The proceedings were well conducted and much credit was due to tho Management Committee in carrying out their duties so satisfactorily. Tho horse events were particularly good, many excellent horses being on the field, and there was first-class riding. The addition race probably caused the most interest, while the back-to-front trot was the most amusing. The programme as a whole proved to have been a good compilation. Amongst the visitors from outside districts was Mr E. W. Walker, representative of the New Zealand Athletic Union. The Manchester Band played on the ground. Eesults : Boys’ Eaca, under 14: L.
