FARMERS’ UNION.
Kimbolton Branch
A mooting of the above branch was held in the Druids Hall, Kimboltou, on March 2nd. There was a fair attendance of members, Mr Orabbo presiding. With regurd to the Isntioual Defence League, held over from last meeting, it was resolved that though, members were in sympathy with the movement, the branch could not see its way clear to forming a branch of same, and that the secretary write to Mr Newman to that effect. In reference to the annual combined picnic, a resolution
that no picnic bo hold this year was withdrawn in favour of the following : That a committee consisting of Messrs Howler and Morton bo appointed, with power to add, to confer with Apiti Branch and school committees. The secretary was instructed to write to the Apiti Branch re this matter at once, also to the secretary of the Hoilding Branch re organising a trip to Moiuohaki State Harm, anti to Mr . G. Wilson to arrange another date for Mr Matlicson s visit, as the proposed date would clash with the Horticultural Society s annual show. Mr L. E. Jackson was appointed to represent the Branco at the Railway Conference to be held at Palmerston North. After discussing tlio Laud Bill at considerable length, Sir Ora’i-L' proposed, and Mr Bradley seconded, “that the following remit be forwarded to the Provincial Conference ; that tins conference while considering the Government laud proposals crude and unworkable is not opposed to the principle of limitation of area.
