The Unionist press attributed the defeat of the Progressives in the London Council elections to the fear of socialist legislation. Radical newspapers declare that the Council has been made the scapegoat for the extravagances of borough councils all over the country.
The Daily Chronicle says that a conspiracy l of all unclean, interests has overthrown the Progressives.
