METHODIST CONFERENCE.

The annual Methodist Conference opened to-night, and the President, the Rev. T. G. Brooke, of New Plymouth, delivered his retiring address, after which the Rev. W. Slade was elected President for the coming year, and Rev. C. H. Laws, secretary. First reading of stations for 1907 was submitted, and after transacting routine business, the Conference adjourned till to-morrow.
