Per Press Association. RoxonuA, February, While returning from the races last night, W: Mayes, proprietor of the Atiamuri Hotel, was thrown from a trap and became entangled with the wheel. One of his ankles was broken, and a shoulder dislocated. Tho trap ■ was rendered useless, and the horses broke away. His daughter walked fourteen miles into Rotorua for assistance, arriving at 3 oVoek in the morning, Mayes was taken to the Hamilton hospital this morning.
