Tho North German Lloyd celebrated the jubilee of the foundation of tho company by a brilliant banquet aboard the liner Bremen. Representatives of political, commercial, financial, and shipping interests were present. Hr Boner, agent of tho company, toasting tho Governments of New South Wales and tho Commonwealth, hoped the Imperial Navigation Conference would result in simplifying regulations for the conduct of commerce, a sentiment that Mr Hughes, Vice-president of New South Wales Executive, in reply; cordially endorsed. ~ Mr Reid, in replying to tho toast of tho Federal Parliament, hoped tho day was not fur distant when the symbolical Red Cross would bo incorporated in the flag of every nation on earth.
