MORE LOANS AT DANNEVIRKE.
Per Press Association.. Dannbvibke, February 27. The Municipal Abattoirs, costing £SOOO, were successfully opened yesterday in the presence of a largo gathering of spectators. At a poll taken yesterday tho ratepayers carried a proposal for tho extension of the waterworks at a cost of £6OOO, also to initiate a system of ratiug ou unimproved value, the voting being for 308 against 94. Ratepayers refused, however, to endorse a proposal to raise £15,000 to either purchase present gas works owuedSby’a syndicate or to erect municipal gas works, tho voting being: For 169, against 222.
