THE THAW TRIAL.

Per Press Association —Copyright,

New York, February 20,

Mrs Thaw deposed that White told her he put a beautiful girl of 15 covered with gauze in with a lot of birds in a pie. When the girl jumped out and the birds flew around at a bachelor dinner it created the best fun ho had ever seen. The girl subsequently married, but when her husband heard the story he cast her off, and she died in poverty. Witness stated that White’s practices with girls were unspeakable. She admitted that when in Paris, after Thaw had proposed to her, she cabled to White for advice when she discovered that she had been made a co-respondent in the Lederer divorce suit.

Mr Jerome cross-examined Mrs Thaw with a view to assailing her credibility.
