THE MASTERTON SHOW.
Per Press Association. Mastkrton, February 19. The Agricultural Show opened in fine weather. There are IGT3 entries, 31 less than last year, horses showing greatest decrease. In many other classes there were substantial increases. Entries for sporting events total 161. In tho champion jump twenty-one of the best hurdlers in the North Island are nominated. Purebred Hereford bull calved since July Ist, 1901, also ditto cow any age in calf or calf at foot, first and champion G. F. Moore. Each class Lincoln ram under twenty-one months, champion, first, second, third and h.c., "William Perry. Purebred Shorthorn bull calved since July Ist, 1901, Trustees late D. MoMaster first and champion. Grade Shorthorn cow, any age, in calf or calf at foot, C. F. Yallanco first and champion. Ayrshire bull calved since July Ist, 1904, also heifer calved since July Ist, 1905. Sla ck Eros, first and champion. Jersey bull calved since July Ist, 1903, also cow any age, calf, at foot or in milk, S. B. Lancaster first and champion. In the Lincoln ram classes, W; Perry swept the board and took champion under 21 months. Following have secured championships : —Cattle : Best fat bullock and cow, G. F. Moore. Sheep : English Leicesters ram and ewe, W; Perry; Border Leicesters ram and ewe, Slack Bros.; Eomney Marsh ram and ewe, E. Short; Southdowns ram and ewe, Mrs B. H. Slack; Shrop shire ram, B. Seth-Smith. Pigs : Berkshire boar and sow, E. White Tamworth boar and sow, E. White: Yorkshire boar, E. White; Yorkshire sow, A. Eichards.
