NATIVE LANDS.

Per Press Association. Watsoa, February 20. Messrs Carroll, Ngata and, Fraser addressed the natives assembled hero, explaining the object of the Native -Lands Commission. The Native Appellate Court is still sitting here, enquiring into the administration of certain native blocks under the Act of 1807 and whether the original grantees were mero'y trustees or owners. The decision will bo important as it will affect a large area' of native : lands. Maoris are present from all parts of the province. Messrs Ngata and Fraser will inspect native lands at Mob aka to-mor-row. When the natives have conferred with’them Sir Robert Stout will visit Wairoa and adjudicate. ■
