Patterson and William John Patterson, who had pleaded guilty in the lower court to a charge of theft of jewellery valued at’ £IOO were admitted to probation for two years. In the case of George White, charged with perjury, the jury disagreed a second time, and tho trial was fixed for next sitting. r Divorce decrees were granted in the cases of Mqlyoeaur: v. Molyneaux and another, husband's petition, on tho ground of adultery ; Murphy y, Murphy, wife’s petition, on tho grounds of habitual drunkenness, cruelty, and failure to suport; Andersen v. Andersen, wife's petition, on the ground of desertion'; Pioctor v. Proctor, wife’s petition, on tlie grounds'’of habitual drunkenness, and failure to support; Leith v, Leith, wife’s petition, on tho ground of adultery; Duke v. Duke, husband’s petition on tho ground of adultery. Wellington, February 18. Patrick Francis Brosnaban, charged at ,the" Supreme Court to-day with having attempted to extort money from Edgar Hyde, was acquitted. Wellington, February 19Rupert Bellow, 15 years of age, found guilty of an unnatural offence, was remanded for sentence. Judge Cooper wishing to consult with tho Chief Justice, Dunedin, February 19.
Mary Kearney, aged 19, for concealment of birth, was admitted to probation for 12 months, conditional on hor going back home.
Sentence was deferred on Andrew Sou® ter, found guilty of an assault on a girl aged nine. J. M. Davidson, for breaking and entering a Chinaman’s hut and stealing ss, Wps gjntenced to nine months’ imprisonment/
