WANGANUI RAM FAIR.

There was a largo attendance at Messrs Freeman 11. Jackson and Co.’s annual Earn Pair, which was commenced at their yards yesterday. The rams penned were an excellent lot, and in point of quality were slightly in advance of those penned last year. Bidding was spirited all through, and the sale on the whole was a most successful one. The total entries were 1548, an increase over last year’s entries of 145 and 444 over the 1005 Fair. There was a slight increase in both stud and purebred Lincoln rams, the latter totalling 818 and the former 127, against SOI) and 112 respectively last year. Eomnoy Marsh rams, purebred, almost doubled this year, the total being 313, while a litre rose 1 , j was noticeable in purebred Border Leicester rams. Purebred English Leicester rams, on the other hand, numbered only 93, a decrease of 0. Shropshire rams increased from 15 to 20 this year, and stud Border Leicester's from 26 to 30, while there wore 7 stud Eomney Marsh against none in 1900.
