(Per Press Association.) Christchurch, February 13,

At the Supreme Court to-day, ~Wm. Knight was sentenced to eighteen months’ imprisonment on the charge of breaking and entering and theft of jewellery to the value of .£6O. Goorgo White, a tramway conductor, was arraigned on a charge of perjury. The charge was based on the evidence given. by the accused when an information was laid against him in an iiliiliatiou case at iho Magistrate’s Court, Christchurch,' on December ILth. The Jury failed to agree, and’ the second trial was fixed for Monday, Dussdik, February 14.

At tho Supreme Court Judge Williams granted a decree nisi in Samuel R. Irwin v. Irwir on tho ground of desertion, tho husband being thp petitioner.
