Owing to the attitude of the Vatican upon past proposals, M. Briaud has arranged for a contract enabling the priests to secure leases of church for 18 years. The clergy will bo responsible for repairs. The benefit of tho contract will extend to any successor appointed by the bishop. A satisfactory settlement is more than assured.
