The Hon. Alfrod Lyttelton, speaking at said that the welcome given by Mr Churchill to colonial preference removed every objection in principle to preference between the Motherland and the colonies. The matter was merely one of machinery and adjustment.

Tho Westminister Gazette declares that Liberals only welcome preference conceded to the Motherland as evidence of the colonies' goodwill and of their advance towards free trade.
