The police made careful enquiry and suspicion f eli oa an engine driver named Williamson. On the arrival of the "Wild Cat" from the Wnirarapa at 2.30 this morning he was arrested and charged with the- theft. On the constable producing a .search, warrant Williamson confessed'and 45 packets of' tobacco were found in his room. Jl'o will bd brought before the Court to-day but a remand will be immediately applied for.
