FEILDING RAM FAIR.
- Unite r Auspices of Feilding A. & P. Association. There was a large attendance of buyers at the Feilding Ham Fair yesterday, and despite the fact that the sale was helcj rather early in the season, good business was done. There was no demand for Border Leicester?, but other sorts sold wall, especially Lincolns, which appeared more in favour. It was said more sales would have been effected if some buyers 4 had-not been under the impression that reserves would bo lower at subsequent sales. Two or three well-known vendors, however, expressed the opinion to our representative that prices were not at all likely to recede this season. The following sales were effected : eomkeys. On account of Mr W. Gibson (bred by Mr J. O. Batchelar), 14 sold at an average
of .£lO Cs. On account of Mr J. Knight: 20 sold at an average of over sgns. On account of Mr W. G. Pearce: 25 sold, two at 4-igns, 1C at 4gns, and 7 at Signs. Under the hammer ; On account of Mr D. Buick : 30 offered; 4 2-tooths sold to Messrs Watt Bros, at sgns each. On account of Mr J. Corpe.- 13 2-tooths sold, highest price 4lgns, average a little over 4gns. On account of Mr W. E. Batess 2-tooths, sold at an averaga of -llgns. On account of Mr E. Short, 2-tooth stud Eomneys .- IX G. Forking 1 at 13gns, J. P. Guzlee 1 at X2gns, and F. Kensington 1 at 12gns. Two-tooth Flock Bomneys, on account of the same breeder : 1 was sold at 7igns, and 4at 7gns. Messrs J. MeKolvio, 11. Adsett, J. Burton, and J. Pcddio wore the buyers. On account of Mr W. F. Jacob; Mr C. McKinnon bought 4 2-tooths at 3gns each, and Bailey Bros. 1 at the same price. The remainder of the flock rams were subsequently sold. On account of Mr J. Campion; 23 2tooths were sold at an average of about 4gns. The highest price was sgns and the lowest 3-lgns. On account of Mr T. E-. Willis : 7 2tooths were sold at from 3lgns to l-gns.
