BRITISH NAVY.

Press Association. —Copyright,

London, February 7. Dover will be made the base of the fourth torpedo destroyer flotilla. Tho Dreadnought steamed from Gibraltar to Trinidad at a speed of over seventeen knots throughout. At the close of tho voyage tho propelling machinery was in excellent condition, and the fuel remaining aboard would have been sufficient for a further thousand miles at the same speed. This is the record speed for a battleship for a long voyage though it was not a trial of the highest speed inasmuch as it is believed the Dreadnought travelled under her 'most economical conditions.
