ALLEGED CHILD SLAVERY.

Report to Minister. (Per Press Association,) AYku.inoton, February 6. The Minister of Labour has had enquiries made by officers of the department as to the allegations made by the AVellingtou Post that child slavery existed on dairy farms in soma districts of the North Island. The Post states to-uijht that reports sent in to the Minister show- that the allegations we«j» justified but the Minister is waiting until ho receives reports from the whole of the districts before going fully into the matter, with a view to seeing if any legislation shall be introduced to deal with the evil.
