Research on Rats. Press Association—Copyright. Svdney, February 1. Mr "Woodward, director of Perth Museum, who is at present on a visit to Sydney, has made close research into the disease of rats. Experience shows that tho English'rat suiters from plague while Pie brown or Norway rat apparently does not. Moreover the latter exterminates the English rat and to this is supposed to be due the present immunity of Western Europe from pf?.guo. BrasiiAXE, February 1. There have been 1G cases of plague and seven deaths in connection with the outbreak at New Farm.
