FLAXMILLERS’ DISPUTE.

(Per Press Association.) Palmerston N. January 16,

The-Conciliation Board commenced sitting hero to-day iu connection with the demands of the Manawatn Flaxmill Industrial Union of Workers. Fully 60 employers were cited and the majority were present or represented. After the completion of routine business the Board went into conference on the questions before it. Messrs Pryor, Seifert and Greig represented the employers and Simpson, Cumerford and Castle the Union. The demands of the Union include inoreased wages generally, reduction in hours from 53 to 40 per week, with time and a-half for any work on recognised holidays.
