“THE LITTLE STRANGER."
It is a long time since any farce comedy has caused such favourable ; comment in New Zealand as in the case of “ The Little Stranger.” The managers, Mcynell, Gunn and Varna, are particularly frank about the quality of the “ goods ” they have for sale. To quote their own words : “We bring you a pure farce, and do not : pretend that “ The Little Stranger ” is anything else. The plot is an entirely original one, and if your theatre-goers like their fare of the rollicking description we feel certain that the piece will meet with the same approval in your town that it has met with in all other previous halting places.” In Master Willie Parke we are promised a veritable child wonder—all his actions are those of a long experienced actor, none of his “ business ” is said to be forced, everything quite natural, and he is eight years old next month ! The idea of a baby boy being the star of a London Comedy Company is indeed a novelty, and there is little doubt but that a great audience will assemble at Marten Opera House, when he makes his appearance on Monday next, for positively one night only.
